Fleet GPS monitoring
A construction company (~100 vehicles)
A trip log tied to jobs and cost centres, sent to the ERP with no re-keying — plus geofencing and alarms for fuel, speed and over-consumption. Built on an open-source GPS platform.
~100 vehicles, still in operation
Challenge
The company needed more than vehicle positions on a map — it needed a view of trip costs, a trip log tied to jobs and cost centres, and integration with the ERP.
Solution
Our team built a fleet-management portal on top of an open-source GPS platform: a live map, route history, a trip log tied to jobs and cost centres with automatic export to the ERP, geofencing, alarms and consumption statistics.
Results:
- A trip log tied to jobs and cost centres, exported to the ERP with no re-keying
- Geofencing (circle, polygon, route) and alarms: sudden fuel drop, speeding and over-revving
- Consumption statistics including over-consumption against a norm
- Monitoring around 100 vehicles of a construction company, still in operation
Position connected to processes
The focus is not just the map but connecting position to business processes: a finished trip log is exported automatically to the ERP and tied to specific jobs and cost centres — so trip costs land where they belong.
Built on open source
The portal sits on top of an open-source GPS platform, which gives independence from commercial telematics services. The system is designed to be multi-tenant — managing vehicles, drivers and groups with reports and alarms.
